Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) began in 1992 as a vocational institute and has grown into one of India’s most progressive research-focused universities. With a strong commitment to innovation, global exposure, and interdisciplinary learning, KIIT aims to create an academic culture where knowledge is explored, questioned, and created.

When KIIT partnered with CIVOM, the university wanted its Central Library to reflect these values a modern environment that fuels research, supports collaboration, and stands as a 21st-century academic resource. CIVOM took up the challenge to reimagine the library as a dynamic knowledge ecosystem rather than a traditional book-centric space.

KIIT's Vision

  • "To create an advanced centre of professional learning of international standing” demanded spaces that enable students to grow beyond boundaries of subject, culture, and nationality. CIVOM aligned with this by designing environments that encourage students to bench up their ideas, co-construct knowledge, and participate actively in academic discourse.

    The Central Library, housed in an 8-storey, 10,000 sq. m building, now supports varied study modes including deep research, peer discussion, mentoring, digital learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Flexible layouts, ergonomic seating, and a mix of silent, semi-open, and open zones enable students to choose how they learn best, making research and academic inquiry more natural, comfortable, and productive.

CIVOM transformed KIIT’s Central Library into a 21st-century academic hub by introducing a spectrum of purposeful learning spaces:

  • Research & Silent Study Areas for deep work, thesis development, and focused reading.
  • Collaborative Zones with writable surfaces and modular furniture for brainstorming, peer learning, and interdisciplinary discussion.
  • Digital Learning Corners that support access to KIIT’s vast e-journals, archives, and research databases.
  • Faculty–Student Interaction Spaces for mentoring, academic reviews, viva discussions, and guidance.
  • Resource Areas curated for physical books, journals, research publications, and discipline-specific materials.
  • Flexible Seating & Modular Layouts to adapt to academic seasons like exams, project sprints, and publication cycles.
  • Ergonomic & Inclusive Design ensuring comfort, accessibility, and sustained engagement.

    This transformation elevates the library from a storage and reading space into a complete knowledge ecosystem where academic life happens students research, collaborate, debate, publish, and grow with confidence. By blending physical and digital resources, independent and collaborative needs, and research with mentorship, CIVOM helped KIIT create a library that matches its global ambitions and empowers its learners for the future.

Hi, I’m Mr. Selvaraj, Principal of ACT Secondary School. After hearing about CIVOM, we decided to set up a library in our school. We approached CIVOM and their team, who came to meet with me. The first meeting went very well; they explained clearly how they would set up the library, including the different models, designs, and materials for furniture and racks. It took them about two months to manufacture the materials and furniture. Once everything was ready, they came to our school, identified the room for the setup, and completed the entire project in just 4-5 days. They took care of everything—flooring, materials, furniture, and the complete interior. The results were fantastic. On the first day back, the students immediately fell in love with the library. They were drawn to the welcoming environment, the new furniture, and the overall positive atmosphere. This new library has created a wonderful space that motivates and energizes the students to engage with books. I highly recommend CIVOM to other schools for setting up their libraries. Thank you.

CIVOM has set up several state-of-the-art laboratories on the campus of Parul University. Among the most notable are the Medical Library at the Parul Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and our library for the BBA college. If you visit these libraries, you'll see some of the finest facilities in university education.
In addition to the libraries, CIVOM has also established admission cell offices and faculty offices for us. The feedback from parents, students, and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone is very satisfied with the work done by CIVOM. The promoters of CIVOM have a fantastic sense of aesthetics, and the comfort and quality of their infrastructure are remarkable.
Given our satisfaction with this project, we have also entrusted CIVOM with the establishment of our Homeopathy and Ayurveda libraries, which will be coming up soon. Additionally, they will be setting up various faculty offices on our university premises.
