Trio World School, Bengaluru
Trio World School wanted to build a library ecosystem that supports different modes of learning reading, research, digital exploration, storytelling, and quiet study within a single space. The brief included a complete library setup along with an e-library, a story room for younger learners, an intellectual reading space, and an efficient storage system that could house a growing collection. With strong expectations around both aesthetics and functionality, the school sought a solution that felt contemporary while staying true to the school’s identity and everyday academic needs.
CIVOM approached the project by designing a modern library environment that challenges conventional layouts and invites students to engage with knowledge in different ways. The space offers a balance between digital access and traditional reading, ensuring students can browse physical books, conduct online research, and participate in discussions seamlessly. Though compact in size, the library integrates storage for over 6,000 books, accommodates various seating and work styles, and includes a story area to nurture early literacy and imagination. The final setup feels warm, purposeful, and age-inclusive offering something valuable to both young and older learners.
The primary challenge at Trio World School was space - every required zone had to coexist within a relatively small footprint. CIVOM responded with a highly strategic layout that made use of vertical storage, multi-functional shelving, and modular seating to maximize usability. Custom shelving and storage solutions ensured that the 6,000-book requirement was met without overwhelming the room or compromising circulation.
To support different learning styles, the floor plan was divided into distinct yet connected zones:
The e-library for digital research, a story room for read-aloud sessions, an intellectual reading zone for focused study, and a general library area for browsing and casual reading. Material choices and colour palettes were kept contemporary yet grounded, creating a space that feels modern but still aligned with the school’s culture.
With thoughtful planning, efficient carpentry, and furniture engineered for academic environments, CIVOM turned a compact brief into a flexible, future-ready library that enhances student engagement and supports the school’s broader academic mission.
