Industrial Age mindset in Intelligence Age
Was reading a post on LinkedIn shared by Lakshmi Yadav, Director of The Orchid School, Pune written by Barry Cooper whose title says ‘making a di!erence through education’ and the post was about his height & the bruise he got in economy seat at aircraft post 2 hours travel.
With this post he raised a question, “Is it even possible to create spaces, curriculums, schools that don’t leave marks?”
That was an instant connection as we are breathing solutions to this problem statements of learners in and out. This made me interview my team members about the bruises their school left on them (o! course they contributed best they can). Fatima Dadani, a brilliant Chartered Accountant shared her story, ‘The Side Row’. She was really impacted physically by the position of her seating in the classroom, facing one direction to Blackboard and being one third in number as female student only dedicated with side row of desk in a rowcolumn design of classroom. One could sense the bruise and pain that still has when she was showing the body stress & irritation that lead for long hour seating on hard surfaces of that classrooms year after year. This situation still do persist for more than 80% of our nation’s classroom.
What’s really going wrong by this? Let’s look onto the relevant questions on this blog and we can ponder upon our thoughts on each of these –
1. Is it right to use the same ford model of mass education in the mass customisation times of Chatgpt?
2. Side row seating position based on gender in the times of impactful contribution of female in GDP?
3. How true is assumption that a hard seat is designed to set more discipline and control in the times of soft seating at cinemas?
4. What are the change models observed around us that Fatima can have sense of assurance that it is changing for good for future generations?
Is it even possible to create spaces, curriculums, schools that don’t leave marks?
Will talk about CIVOM’s take on all the above questions and solutions to these problems. How impactful solutions are been created that are relevant in current Indian Education Environment?
